Translators association
has credentials program

Can you help me locate schools that offer translator certificates? I inquired with the language department at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, but they don't offer any certificate.

Try the Hawaii Interpreters & Translators Association, a group of professional interpreters that meets monthly. HITA has about 90 members and, besides offering workshops and networking opportunities, also has a training credential program, said Stella Guillory, coordinator of its referral service.

Annual membership fee for the association is $20. It costs another $20 a year to belong to its referral service.

You can write to the association at P.O. Box 90900, Honolulu 96835. Linde Keil is president. Or call 946-8848.
