Focusing on education at BOMA

Myra Wright will lead the local chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association, composed of more than 200 members involved in commercial real estate.

"One of my goals is to reinstate the course study for the RPA (Real Property Administrator) and SMA (Systems Maintenance Administrator) designations," Wright said. "For the past two or three years we haven't offered the course study in Honolulu."

BOMA favors the smoke-free workplace and is working with the state Public Utilities Commission on the issue of maintaining interior telephone wiring in commercial buildings as part of deregulation of the communications industry.

She is director of special projects for Koll Asia Pacific-Hawaii. Wright came from Atlanta to Hawaii in 1987 and worked at Landmark Property Corp. for seven years. Koll bought the company last August.
