OPENING

"Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)": An overworked grad student finds herself in two Shakespeare plays, meets the leading ladies and finds out who really wrote the stories, 8 p.m. Friday, Kennedy Theatre. This comedy based on famous tragedies features Stephanie Sanchez, Nicole Tessier and Kimberly-Rose Wolter. Directed by Juli Burk. Repeats 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 14 and 15, and 2 p.m. Feb. 16. "Little Shop of Horrors": Seymour befriends a special plant that aims to take over his life, 8 p.m. Friday, Diamond Head Theatre. Musical comedy based on the '60s sci-fi thriller features Ben Perry, Cassandra Harrell and Thomas Villegas. Directed and choreographed by James Seibel, with musical direction by Oliver Stone. "The Belle of Amherst": ASATAD presents William Luce's drama of Emily Dickinson's life. Diana Carter Anderson plays the poet, her father, her teachers and friends. "The Misadventures of Paka and Lolo": Two clowns try to enjoy their pot in peace. Director D. Scott Woods incorporates masks, puppets and dance for a comical study of the oppression of marijuana use in Hawaii. Cast includes Edward Dyer, Miriam Gianni, Ariston Green and Jodie Yamada. "Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers": A Hilo girl somehow forges a strong sense of identity in a world bubbling with images that clash with her life. John H.Y. Wat and Keith Kashiwada adapted Lois-Ann Yamanaka's satiric novel for the stage. Repeats 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays, through Feb. 16 at Kumu Kahua Theatre.
