Focusing on quality for Hilton

Sarah Kalicki-Nakamura will be training 1,900 employees at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in a variety of "quality" programs.

"Our 1997 quality programs are designed to focus on value creation," Kalicki-Nakamura said. "To do this, we will find out what's important to our customers and train our employees to deliver it right the first time, each and every time."

Kalicki-Nakamura came to Hawaii in 1995 and worked as the employment and training manager at the Pacific Beach Hotel and Pagoda Hotel. She also was a casting specialist at the MGM Grand Hotel, Casino and Theme Park in Las Vegas. Her career started in 1991 as producer of a Phoenix, Ariz. "love and song dedication" radio show called "Affection Connection."

She earned a bachelors degree in journalism from Arizona State University.

Kalicki-Nakamura and her husband, Malcolm, reside in in Ewa Beach.
