Marketing credit for education

After five years in marketing, Lisa Nakamura has won a post as vice president of marketing for the Oahu Educational Employees Federal Credit Union.

"We're a full-service financial institution and offer the same services that other lenders have," Nakamura said. "We're the second largest credit union in Hawaii, with 42,000 members and $300 million in assets."

Her job also involves business development, research, advertising and public relations.

The credit union is currently involved in a promotion for its members with Hawaiian Air Lines.

Nakamura most recently was marketing supervisor at Kauai Community Federal Credit Union for two years. She came to Hawaii in 1993, after working three years for a small advertising company in Seattle. She has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Washington.
