Expanding financial product lines

After 15 years with Hawaiian Trust Co., William J. Barton has been promoted to executive vice president as the firm continues to expand its financial offerings.

"In recent years, we have emphasized a broader range of specialized products and mutual funds for individual clients," Barton said. Hawaiian Trust Co. is a subsidiary of Bank of Hawaii.

Barton came to Hawaii in 1981 from Detroit where he worked 24 years for Comerica Bank. He also was a faculty member of the University of Detroit's Evening School of Commerce and a pension plan trustee for Birmingham, Mich.

He is a member of the Security Analysts Society of San Francisco, American Arbitration Association and Financial Analysts Federation.

Barton earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration at the University of Michigan.
