Akebono,
Musashimaru 3-0

TOKYO - Grand champion Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, pushed out Kyokushuzan today for his third victory without a loss in the 15-day New Year Grand Sumo tournament.

Tied with Akebono were fellow grand champion Takanohana, champion Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, and four others.

Musashimaru sent out Akinoshima today.

Konishiki, or Salevaa Atisanoe from Hawaii, drove out Hamanoshima and is 2-1.

Yamato, or George Kalima from Hawaii, was sent out from behind by Daishoho and fell to 0-3.

In the juryo division, William Hopkins from Hawaii (2-1) was thrown down by Wakashoyo.

In the top junior division, Hawaii's Percy Kipapa (2-0) forced out Tochishimizu.
