






Street-Style Rottweilers earned a berth in the Jeep Eagle Aloha Bowl Touch Tackle Tournament championship game with an 8-0 victory over the Kaikunanes yesterday at Ala Wai Field. Rottweilers will play
for titleThe Rottweilers, lead by former University players Michael Carter, Brian Gordon and Kenny Harper, will play defending champion Waianae, featuring former Waipahu quarterback Lefa Lauti as well as former Rainbow Eric Lalau.
The game will be played Sunday at 8:15 a.m. at Aloha Stadium, as a pregame show to the Hooters Hula Bowl.
Former Olympic canoeist Wyatt Jones won the Kanaka Ikaika kayak long-course race off Waikiki yesterday. JONES TOP KAYAKER
Jones, 26, finished the 6-mile course from Magic Island to Diamond Head buoy and back in 54 minutes and 55 seconds. Placing second in 55:43 was 50-year-old Bob Rocheleau.
The women's kayak title went to Richline Fong in 46.21.
In the one-man canoe long-course competition, Walter Guild beat out John Foti by more than a minute, finishing with a winning time of 1:00:10. The women's canoe race was won by Libby Fulk in 1:21:25 while the mixed-doubles trophy went to the husband-and-wife team of Pat and Kathy Erwin in 1:02:17.
Raven Aipa placed first in the 3-mile short-course canoe race from Magic Island to Kapahulu groin and back. Heather Hopper was the first female finisher (40:28).
The short-course kayak race was won by Duane Webster in 34:03 with Christina Turney the top female finisher (34:04), fourth overall.
