It is a newly created position. The work helps Aston's Dianne Garrigues, based in New Jersey, who covers the 11-state northeastern region.

"The northeast has a lot of potential for Hawaii," Tatibouet said. "We need it because the HVCB (Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau) has so little money for promotion. We will be out telling travel agents to suggest Hawaii to clients."

She most recently served as assistant manager at the Pierre Hotel Four Seasons in New York. She also served as a student assistant to the dean at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration.

Tatibouet is a graduate of Punahou School, and earned a bachelor's degree with honors in hotel administration at Cornell University.
