The B Brothers wrote and producedPETER Bergstrom (a k a "Peter Beat" or "Techno Lord PeterB") masterminded the musical and cultural success of The Garage. His brother, studio engineer Henry Bergstrom, worked with some of the biggest recording acts in Sweden.
Peter and Henry - The B Brothers - now own the hot local hit of the new year in this catchy, peppy, poppy, lighthearted ode to brotherhood and optimism. Imagine Sweden's Ace of Base with Hawaiian chanting, a chirpy "tu-tu beep-beep" refrain vaguely reminiscent of Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" and a melodic hook that brings to mind "Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone. Cute hooks, strong beat. You gotta love it!
The hit is a B Brothers creation; they wrote, produced and mixed it. They know what works! Chanter Iolani Kamauu and vocalists Natalie Ai-Kamauu, Chad Guerrero and Claudia Vazquez were tapped for stardom as the performers; it's a promising step forward for Vazquez.
How hot is it? The "radio mix" version won KCCN's "Top Five at 5" voting for a full week, achieved "Top Banana" status on Radio Free Hawaii, and is even getting recurrent play on I-94.
The Extended Mix and Manoa Mountain Jam Remix versions merit play as well. The B Brothers' success will inspire more local artists and producers to incorporate the Hawaiian language in different styles of music. Tu-tu beep-beep!
