A lucky happenstance
helps locate a ‘lost’ aunt

Q: I am trying to locate an aunt in Hawaii, whom I haven't seen or heard from for 10 years. I've moved and she's moved. Her married name was Mrs. E.L. Stevens; her maiden name was Jean Brundage. She was well known in the community. Can you please help?

The only mention of a Jean Stevens we could find was in a 1987 newspaper article about her volunteer work with The Friends of the Library annual book sale. We called the Friends' office, where someone just happened to have gotten a Christmas card from Mrs. Stevens, who now lives in Sykesville, Md. We hope that's your aunt and we thank the Friends for their assistance.
