Honolulu Symphony: “The Magic Horn” tells an ancient, magical story, 11 a.m. Saturday, Blaisdell Concert Hall. With conductor Stuart Chafetz and the Magic Circle Mime Co. “Instrument Petting Zoo” for children at 10 a.m. Tickets $12 to $15.

Also at the Concert Hall, Masterworks concerts 4 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday feature Joseph Silverstein as guest conductor and violin soloist. Silverstein, music director of the Utah Symphony, holds a “Concert Conversation” an hour before curtain. Program includes Berlioz’ “Benvenuto Cellini” Overture, Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218, and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2 in D major, op. 43. Tickets $10 to $45. Call 538-8863. Open rehearsal 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Violin master class: With Joseph Silverstein, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Honolulu Academy of Arts Theater. Admission $5. Call 524-0815 ext. 23.

Classical music: 4 p.m. Sunday, Academy Theater. Pianist Grace Nikae, violinist James Swan and violoncellist Maggie Chen play music by Mozart, Brahms, Ravel and Mendelssohn. Free. Call 532-8700.
