Next Super Brawl set

The Hawaii International X-treme Fighting Tournament returns to Blaisdell Arena Jan. 17 with Super Brawl III starting at 8 p.m.

The main event features Frank Shamrock, currently ranked No. 1 in Japan, vs. John Lober, the current IFC heavyweight champion.

The co-main event has Hawaii's Jay Palmer, winner of Super Brawls I and II and 15-0 in freestyle fighting, going against Danny Bennett, the ISKA commonwealth light middleweight Muay Thai champion from Seattle.

There also will be two four-man tournaments (over and under 198 pounds).



VULCANS HOST BUCCANEERS

The University of Hawaii at Hilo Vulcans will play the Beloit College Buccaneers Saturday at 7:15 p.m. at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Tickets cost $6 for prime reserved seats, $5 for standard reserved and $2 for students and seniors.
