Hula Bowl Bike Ride: Take a 20-, 30- or 50-kilometer ride to Aloha Stadium on Jan. 19 to raise funds for the American Lung Association of Hawaii. Deadline to register is Jan. 8.
The Bike Ride starts 7:30 a.m. from Kmart on Salt Lake Boulevard and goes east on Kamehameha and Nimitz highways, with optional side trips on Lagoon Drive and Sand Island Access Road. Return is by North Beretania and North King streets, Moanalua Gardens and Aliamanu Crater.
Entry fee of $25 includes a Hula Bowl ticket and T-shirt. Riders who collect donations are eligible for incentive prizes. Pick up an entry form at the association office, at bike shops or in Spoke-n-Words, the Hawaii Bicycling League publication. Call 537-5966 for information.
