Festival of Trees at Iwalani: Students from Kapolei Elementary decorated trees at seven model homes in Kapolei, on view 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Jan. 10. Display is closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Call Iwalani Development Partners at 537-5220.

Old-fashioned Christmas: Free 20-minute tours of the historic Laniakea YWCA on Richards Street begin at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Call 538-7061.

Christmas concert: Harpist Kimberly Bento and flutist Nadine Lee perform 4 p.m. Friday at the Hawaii State Library. Free.

Zoo Lites: See life-size light sculptures of flamingos, lions and other animals at the Honolulu Zoo, 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Jan. 4. Admission is $3 adults, $1 children. Call 926-3191.

Santa’s Light Parade: Dancing and singing Christmas trees and toy soldiers escort a train from Sears to Liberty House at Ala Moana Center, 6:30 p.m. daily through Monday and 5 p.m. Tuesday. Call 946-2811.

Honolulu Hale: Choirs sing under the Honolulu City Lights, 7 p.m. daily. Featuring Bones & Harmony, Friday; Iliahi Elementary School, Saturday; New Jerusalem Church Youth & Sunday School Choir, Sunday; Ewa Plantation Singers, Monday; Waipahu Samoan Assembly

Christmas water shows: Mermaids Hawaii presents free family entertainment, 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Holiday Inn Waikiki, 1830 Ala Moana.

“Live Nativity”: The Salvation Army presents the Biblical message of the first Christmas, in the setting of a humble stable, Friday through Tuesday at Waioli Gardens in Manoa. Narration begins every half hour from 7 to 10 p.m. Parking available at Waioli Chapel or take the No. 5 bus from Ala Moana Center.

Waimanalo Santa Parade: 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Parade hits Hihimanu, Kakaina, Mahailua, Kumuhau and Humuniki streets, Kalanianaole Highway and Huli and Nakini streets. Block Party 5 p.m. Saturday at Kahalewai’s place, 41-902 Oluolu St. Sponsored by Waimanaolo Mele Kalikimaka Ohana. Call Hanalei Kahalewai at 259-6433.

Santa visit: Saturday at the Historic Kress Building in Hilo. Make-and-take craft workshops from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Call 961-2656.

Reindeer show: Bucky the Hawaiian Reindeer and hula dancers perform, 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dole Cannery. Also on Dec. 21, the Central YMCA demonstrates crafty gift ideas, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Photos with Santa, Friday to Tuesday.

Wreath-making contest: With Cliff Richards and Erika Engle from KQMQ radio, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Windward Mall. Santa appears for visits with kids through Tuesday. Call 235-1143.

Enchanted Christmas Forest: Wander through a forest of decorated trees, 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Waipahu Cultural Garden Park, Hawaii’s Plantation Village. Santa will be there, choirs will sing and fund-raising groups will manage food booths. Free. Call 677-0110.

Magic of Christmas: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Hale Koa Hotel lobby.

“A Nutty Nutcracker”: Free presentation by the Beach Cities Gymnastics Club, with singer-guitarist Brad Duell, 7 p.m. Saturday, Waianae District Park Gymnasium. Call 696-4441.

“Christmas in Hawaii”: Song and dance by the Honolulu Boy Choir, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Harris United Methodist Church. With choral director Mark Yasuhara, accompanist Bob Engle and kumu hula Chinky Mahoe. Touch of Brass performs at 6:45 p.m. Offering accepted. Call 596-7464.

The choir also performs 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, and 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s Monarch Room.

Christmas luncheon and concert: Jay Larrin performs, 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Mauna Kea Ballroom, Hawaii Prince Hotel. Reception begins 11:30 a.m. Admission $45. Call 947-5829.

“A Christmas Melody”: See Santa and a display featuring bear musicians in tuxedos, through Tuesday at Kahala Mall.

Aloha Santa Workshop: Todd Vander Plyum’s 25-ton sand creation is on display through Christmas at Uptown Center Court, Pearlridge Center. Kids can meet Aloha Santa Uptown and a more traditional Santa Downtown.

Iolani Palace: Free 15-minute tours of the State Rooms, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 26, 27 and 28.

Holiday Carnival: Aloha Tower Marketplace hosts an E.K. Fernandez show with music and fireworks, Dec. 28 through Jan. 5 at Irwin Park, corner of Nimitz Highway and Bishop Street. The fireworks start at 8:55 p.m. Dec. 28 and at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
