“Inspecting Carol”: Delightfully deranged Christmas tale about a naive actor and the theater company that thinks he is a spy for the National Endowment for the Arts. “Scrooge”: Frank DeLima stars in Hawaii’s musical take on the Dickens classic. Dion Donahue plays the three Ghosts of Christmas. DANCE

Videos: Ballet Hawaii presents three views of the performing arts with the “On Dance” series, airing on Oceanic Channel 52. See an audition for “Nutcracker” in Part One, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Part Two features an interview with Denis DeCoteau, conductor of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Part Three looks into artistic and managerial goals in running a major ballet company, with rehearsal scenes from the Washington Ballet, 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Performing arts classes: A brochure for the winter schedule is available from Diamond Head Theatre. Classes for adults and children begin in January, with such subjects as acting, vocal technique, Broadway jazz, tap, flamenco and set design and construction.

An audition is required for Annie MacLachlan’s Level II acting class for children. Tuition for the classes, which end in early or mid-March, is $80 to $125. Call 734-8763.

New season schedule: ASATAD’s next production will be “The Belle of Amherst,” starting Jan. 17. “It Had To Be You” will begin Feb. 13, and “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” will begin April 3. Sunday performances for the February and April shows have been canceled. Call 247-6939.
