Wahine defeat Florida, Advance to Saturday final

Gators gone in three games -
15-11, 15-8, 15-9

Angelica Ljungquist had 15 kills, seven blocks and 15 digs to lead Hawaii past Florida, 15-11, 15-8, 15-9, and into the finals of the NCAA women's volleyball tournament.

The Wahine, 35-2, will play either Nebraska or Stanford at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Four Hawaii players reached double figures in kills with Therese Crawford also getting 15, Joselyn Robins 13 and Cecelia Goods 10. The Wahine hit .307 as a team.

Hawaii will play for the national title for the first time since losing to Texas in 1988. The Wahine last won the national championship, their fourth, in 1987.

Florida finished the season 37-2.
