
MAUNA KEA RESORT, Hawaii - Deron Doi of Kauai shot even par yesterday to win the men's division of the Callaway Hawaii State Open golf tournament played on the Hapuna and Mauna Kea courses. Doi wins Callaway
Hawaii State OpenDoi's three-day total of 213 was 3-under par.
The Big Island's Camie Hoshino shot a 74 yesterday for a 222 total and won the women's division by six strokes over Kamehameha Schools senior Elisha Au.
Kapalua's Dean Prince won the senior division with a 54-hole score of 222, five strokes ahead of runner-up Fran Cipro of Waikapu.
Doi received $5,400 in cash and a round-trip ticket on Delta Airlines.
Men's runner-up Troy Tamiya of Naniloa was one stroke back and won $3,240. Third-place finisher Keith Kollmeyer of Oahu took home $2,040.
Hoshino's title was worth $1,000 and a round-trip ticket on Delta Airlines.
Prince won $1,250 and a round-trip ticket on Delta Airlines.
The lowest scoring amateur in each division received an award and a $500 merchandise certificate. They were Oahu's Jonathan Ota (220 in the men's division), Forest Watson (231 in the senior division) and Au (228 in the women's division).
At Las Vegas, Myron Duarte, formerly of Maui and now living in Peyton, Colo., finished in fifth place in the final bull riding world standings with earnings of $100,628. DUARTE FINISHES FIFTH
Duarte managed to ride three of 10 bulls during the National Finals Rodeo.
Terry West of Henryetta, Okla., won the title with earnings of $125,425.
The sixth annual Eddie Hamada Golf Tournament will be held Jan. 20 at the Hawaii Kai Course. HAMADA GOLF TOURNAMENT
