At 15, she's looking ahead at obtaining scholarships. "But there's so much competition for scholarships and awards," Tadeo said.
Maui High teacher Clint Gima describes Tadeo as a "positive, mature, and hard-working student."
Tadeo, the youngest daughter of Doris Tadeo, has been in charge of major sections of the school's yearbook ""Malu Nani" for the past two years. She writes, takes photographs, and uses computers to lay out the pages.
Most importantly, Gima said, Tadeo knows how to work with people to achieve goals.
"When I was out on family leave, Tricia ran my yearbook class and made sure we met our deadlines," Gima said.
Tadeo, who has a 4.0 grade point average, said she enjoys creating the yearbook pages on computer. "Each year we try new stuff and we get more advanced."
She also is a percussionist in the school band, playing the bells, xylophone, and marimba.
And as a member of the Interact club, she's worked as a volunteer in community service projects such as the "Reindeer Run & Walk For Arthritis" on Dec. 7.
Outside of school, she's a weekend volunteer at the Maui Humane Society.
"She is continually looking for ways she can help others and never grumbles or complains about anything," Gima said.
