Duarte, originally from Maui and now living in Peyton, Colo., was riding Copenhagen Cobra but didn't get the action he expected from the bull.
Hawaii's Shannon Nishi, 11, and Chad Nishi, 13, competed in the fifth Karate World Cup for Children and Cadets, Dec. 6-8 at Miskolc, Hungary and brought home medals. HAWAII PAIR FARES WELL
Shannon received a gold medal in her Kata (forms) Division while Chad received a silver medal in the boys competition.
In Kumite (sparring), Chad finished fourth out of 126 competitors while Shannon captured the gold over 50 other competitors in her division.
Both train under Chuzo Kotaka of the International Karate Federation.

The game against Cal State Bakersfield Dec. 22 also has been moved to Blaisdell Arena (from the Mid-Pacific Institute gym) with the same 6 p.m. starting time.
