Chuck Berry stars

Chuck Berry, the legendary father of rock 'n' roll who gave us such hits as "Maybellene," "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Johnny B. Goode," will star at a New Year's Eve concert party at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

Tickets are $65 (bronze seating, with a la carte beverage service and party favors), $90 (silver, with two standard drinks and party favors) and $110 (gold, with champagne and party favors). Optional dinner packages are also available.

Doors will open at 8:30 p.m., with entertainment scheduled to start at 9:45 p.m.

Rodeo, Molokai style

Get 'em up and move 'em out to Molokai for Thanksgiving weekend for the Third Annual Molokai Ranch Professional Rodeo.

For two days, some of the top cowboys and cowgirls from around Hawaii and the mainland will mosey to Maunaloa for bronc riding, barrel racing and punching the occasional doggie. Events start at 6 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 30 at the Molokai Ranch's state-of-the-art rodeo arena.

Hypnotic performance

Hypnotist Ken Whitener will perform New Year's Eve at the Ilikai/Hotel Nikko Waikiki.
