The Bobs serve up a wicked take on Christmas
in their latest recording, "Too Many Santas."
The a capella group performs today at
Borders and tomorrow at the
UH Campus Center Ballroom.

The popular a capella quartet known for their witty, original material and outrageous covers of classic songs will perform at the University of Hawaii at Manoa at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Campus Center Ballroom.

The Bobs - Richard Bob Greene, Matthew Bob Stull, Janie Bob Scott and Joe Bob Finetti - use only their voices and body percussion. Since 1981 the Bobs released eight albums.

Tickets are $12 general admission, and $10 for students, senior citizens, and UH Manoa faculty and staff. For ticket reservations call 956-3836. Tickets also will be sold at the venue beginning one hour before the concert. For more information call 956-3411.

The Bobs also will make a promotional appearance at Border's Books and Music at Ward Center at 9 p.m. today.



Dr. John drops in

Dr. John, veteran ambassador of New Orleans music, performs three shows next month on Maui, Oahu and the Big Island.

The Maui show will be held 9 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center; on Oahu, 9 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Sheraton Waikiki, and in Kona at 8 p.m. Dec. 8.

Tickets for the Maui show are $30, $25 and $20 and available by calling the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 242-SHOW or the Connection at 1-800-333-3388; for Oahu at 737-9709; and the Big Island at 322-3411. Ticket prices for Oahu and the Big Island are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.



STP ready to roll

Stone Temple Pilots, grounded recently due to singer Scott Weiland's drug woes, is on the road again and heading to Maui Arts & Cultural Center 6 p.m. Jan. 4, and Blaisdell Arena 7:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

Maui tickets are at the MACC box office, running $26. Call 242-SHOW (7469).

Oahu tickets go on sale tomorrow at the Blaisdell box office and Connection outlets, at $25 open floor (no seats), $25 loges (reserved seating) and $20 balcony (reserved seating). Call 545-4000 or 1-(800)-333-3388.

The band whose 1992 debut "Core" sold 4.1 million copies, is touring in support of its third album, "Tiny Music ... Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop."
