Working with Japanese and other visitors to Waikele Center is the job of Herb Yoshimura, the new director of marketing.

"I will be taking trips to Japan, Korea and Taipei," he said. "We just have to keep up the good track record we have and also take care of the all-important local market."

He most recently was senior sales manager/eastbound for Sea Life Park and Waimea Valley. He also was owner and president of TJK Enterprises of Honolulu.

Yoshimura, with more than 13 years in sales and marketing, also was director of international sales at the Al Harrington Show and at Windjammer Cruises and handled the Asian sales market for Cove Marketing.

Yoshimura earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. He resides in Kaneohe with his wife, Elsie, and six children.
