Print sale makes
an impression

Honolulu Printmakers Workshop hosts its annual Print Sale 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Academy Art Center, 1111 Victoria St.

In addition to finding great deals on gift and portfolio prints, etchings, lithographs and woodcuts, you could win a door prize.

Proceeds benefit Honolulu Printmakers community activities, including classes, visiting artists programs and traveling exhibitions.

A new philosophy in makeup

Liberty House will introduce two new makeup lines this weekend.

SmashBox, developed by makeup legend Max Factor's great-grandsons Dean and Davis Factor, will debut 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Ala Moana Store, with demonstrations by Bill Park. Demonstrations will also be held 7 to 10 p.m. tomorrow at the Waikiki store; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ala Moana store.

Philosophy, a line utilizing advanced ingredients and technology, addresses skin concerns including sun damage and dryness. It is the line of choice on the set of TV's "Melrose Place" and "Friends."

Co-founder David J. Watson will appear at the Ala Moana store 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.



Everyone loves toys

Billed as the state's "Biggest Toy Show," the Hawaii Toy Expo at the McKinley High School Cafeteria takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

On view will be "Star Wars" action figures, Barbie, G.I. Joe and other dolls, Japanese toys, WWF Wrestlers, fast-food toys, Hot Wheels and other cars.

Admission is $2, with kids 5 and under admitted free.
