White-haired MacArthur asked casting director Doversola: "How come you guys all look so young?" Replied Margaret, "We keep our hair colored." Gov. Ben Cayetano came to add his congratulations and Jack Lord's wife Marie attended. Charming Rose Freeman, wife of the late "Five-0" creator Leonard Freeman, said in her studio speech, "If Len could come back for one day, I think this would be the day. It's been a very great time. I love you all very much. I can't get off without saying, 'Book 'em, Danno.'" Local unions involved in the film industry helped with the reunion, which included a luau ...

WHEN Puamana's Mihana Souza gathers the Kailua Girls and the Town Girls for a party, it's a slam dunk. And it was more than that Monday eve. Things started at the Halekulani's House Without a Key with the music of Benny Kalama, Alan Akaka, Sonny Kamahele and the hula of Kanoe Miller. Actress-filmmaker Elizabeth Lindsey and Alice Clay also danced. Then the gang moved to Old Waialae Road Cafe and Flower Stand, owned by Conne Suther

land and Liz Perry. Songs and hula continued with Perry & Sutherland, Mihana, Alice, Diane Hudson, Lani Brandt, Barbara Bryan, Mele Aluli, Laurie Tom, Paddy Dunn, Eleanor Kawananakoa, Laurie Michaud, Annie Inouye and "chaperon" Amelia Bailey. Jane Stubenberg led the cheers with gusto. This was set up by Mihana for me, the only guy there, for my 65th birthday festivities. It was a night I will never forget. A big mahalo to Mihana and all involved ...
