Something to think about

Hey, let’s all be grateful out there

Have you ever noticed that America is a nation of complainers? From TV talk shows to letters to the editor, people whine, grumble, lash out about something or other - traffic, crime, taxes, crumbling schools, Madonna's mothering skills.

But for one day, Thanksgiving Day, we're asking readers to forget life's woes, and tell us about something they're thankful for, whether it's that bright, shiny Mercedes convertible, or a beater that simply starts in the morning; whether it's spending time with your pals or your pooch; or that blue eye shadow and hip huggers have come back.

Fill in the attached ballot and send your list of thanks to us by Nov. 21.

We will run a selection of comments on Thanksgiving Day. We will be photographing some of the thankful with the object of their gratefulness.

And for participating, we thank you.
