Jakarta, Indonesia - International Monetary Fund and Indonesia co-host meeting of ASEAN finance ministers and central bank governors for symposium on macro issues, especially capital flows and exchange rates. Through Nov. 12.

Paris - Armistice Day celebrations.

London - Memorial to Sir John Betjeman dedicated in Poet's Corner at Westminster Abbey.

Cairo, Egypt - U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher arriving to attend economic conference.

Washington - Congress in recess.

Dallas - Custody hearing for woman accused of abandoning her two toddlers, who were then cared for by homeless men.

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. - Europa Ocean Conference. Biologists, geologists and future exploration types explore idea of possible life in an ocean on Jupiter's frozen moon Europa.



TUESDAY, Nov. 12:

Paris - French court to rule on lawsuit against British Airways by French passengers on BA airliner seized by Iraqis during Gulf War. Flight allegedly carried British commandos to Kuwait.

Cairo, Egypt - Middle East and North Africa economic conference draws foreign ministers, businessmen from nearly 100 countries. Through Nov. 14.

Washington - Supreme Court hears arguments and issues orders.

College Station, Texas - Lawmakers, educators, legal experts and minority leaders meet to develop strategies to cope with effects of recent court decisions in reverse discrimination case against University of Texas.

Pecos, Texas - INS initiates program that allows authorities to hold hearings for criminal aliens via teleconferences.

Norfolk, Va. - NATO conducts crisis management exercise involving 27 senior military officers from 15 NATO members in Europe at Norfolk Naval Air Station.

Quantico, Va. - Retired gunnery sergeant gets the Silver Star for valor in Vietnam. The honoree, Carlos Hathcock, was the subject of a movie called "Sniper."

Orange, Calif. - Trial begins with new judge in Simpson child custody fight in Orange County.

Los Angeles - Trial scheduled in lawsuit brought by Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky against a man who allegedly duped the National Enquirer into believing he was the couple's neighbor.



WEDNESDAY, Nov. 13:

Rome - World Food Summit. Through Nov. 17

New Delhi - Former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao appears on court to be indicted on charges bribing opposition members of Parliament to vote against a 1993 no-confidence motion.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Post-Cabinet meeting briefings by ministers.

Washington - Supreme Court hears arguments.

Cincinnati - Pretrial hearing for Sylvia Stayton, who was arrested Oct. 24 for putting money into other peoples' expired parking meters.

Jackson, Ga. - Execution of Larry Grant Lonchar.

Binghamton, N.Y. - Testimony continues in civil case in which student is suing her school district for not protecting her from sexual harassment by peers.

Frankfort, Ky. - Kentucky Supreme Court hearing on Ralph Baze Jr., facing death sentence for killing Powell County Sheriff Steve Bennett and a deputy.

Covington, Ky. - Juvenile court hearing on whether two youths should be tried as adults in the slaying of a 67-year-old woman and then allegedly using her stolen money to buy compact discs and jewelry.

Denver - Three-day Oklahoma City bombing hearing on pending motions.

Roanoke, Va. - Federal court hearing on Virginia Military Institute's plan for admitting women. Justice Department objects to VMI's proposals to treat females and males equally, including shaving their heads.



THURSDAY, Nov. 14:

Jackson, Ga. - Execution of Ellis Wayne Felker.

Buffalo, N.Y. - Legal briefs due in Amy Fisher's federal lawsuit against New York state prison officials.



FRIDAY, Nov. 15:

Paris - French television to begin running parental guidance warnings for sensitive programming.

Khartoum, Sudan - Deadline for Sudan to comply with U.N. Security Council request that it hand over suspects in the 1995 assassination attempt against Mubarak or face air sanctions.

Jordan - British team attempts to break world land speed record in the Jordanian desert. Through Nov. 25.

Paris - French union CGT calls for strike, followed by a week of protests, against government austerity cuts and 12.6 percent unemployment.

Buffalo, N.Y. - Niagara Mohawk Power Co. sponsors conference of the power industry and celebration to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the first long-distance transmission of electricity - 25 miles from Niagara Falls to Buffalo.

Los Angeles - CIA Director John Deutch makes an unprecedented appearance at a town hall meeting in Watts to discuss allegations the spy agency pedeled crack cocaine in Los Angeles to fund the Contra rebels.



SATURDAY, Nov. 16:

Richmond, Va. - Actor, writer, comedian Carl Reiner is featured at the first of the 1996-97 Richmond Forum series.

Los Angeles - 18th annual CableACE Awards.



SUNDAY, Nov. 17:

Singapore - Biennial conference of ruling People's Action Party.

Georgetown, Guyana - Six top army officials due to make second court appeance on larceny charges.

Paris - French President Jacques Chirac begins six-day trip to Japan, his first as president.

Colombo, Sri Lanka - Tamil rebels' "Heroes' Week." The rebels have traditionally held ceremonies honoring their war dead, and staged at least one major attack on a military base or a terror attack against civilians.

Bangkok, Thailand - General election.

Halifax, Va. - Candlelight vigil for missing high school student April Minnie Wall on anniversary of her disappearance.

Los Angeles - Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu speaks to Israel bonds dinner.
