Michellie Jones, of Carlsbad, Calif., won the women's race in 3 hours, 4 minutes, 53 seconds. Shari Kain of Half Moon Bay, Calif., was second, only 12 seconds back.
Dennis Alexio improved his record to 64-1 when he knocked out Larry Cureton with a spinning reverse kick in the second round of a superheavyweight kickboxing match Saturday night at the Blaisdell Center. ALEXIO IMPROVES TO 64-1

April Jacobson, a sophomore outside hitter for the University of Hawaii-Hilo volleyball team, was named the Pacific West Player of the Week yesterday. JACOBSON HONORED
Jacobson hit .314 with 15 kills, 12 digs and 6 block assists in Saturday's losing effort against Hawaii Pacific. She also played a key role in the Vulcans' 3-1 win over Alaska Fairbanks which ended the team's 15-match losing streak.
The public is invited to participate in the Marine Corps Birthday run, commemorating the 221st birthday of the United States Marine Corps, Friday at the MCBH, Kaneohe Bay. MARINE CORPS RUN
The 10-kilometer run starts at 6:30 a.m., beginning and ending at Dewey Square.
The entry fee, which includes a commemorative T-shirt, is $12 for military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and their dependents and $15 for the general public. There is an extra charge of $3 for entries received after tomorrow.
