Bankoh’s new Capitol man

After more than 22 years as a negotiator in labor/management situations, Alexander D. Jamile takes over as vice president of government affairs at Bank of Hawaii. He replaces Gil Tam who became director of the bank's marketing and community services division.

"I'll be involved in the total spectrum of the legislative process including the legislators, working with community groups and developing a new relationship with labor leaders," Jamile said.

He comes from Hawaiian Airlines where he was vice president for governmental, community and consumer affairs since 1993. Jamile also was with Young Brothers Ltd., Mid-Pacific Airlines, Hawaiian Marine Lines, Hawaii Employers Council, Matson Navigation and Alexander & Baldwin.

A Punahou School graduate, he earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley.
