Christie Chun couldn't have found a better time to win the Star-Bulletin's Football Fever Contest. She and her husband, Reynold, were married last July and you never have quite enough when you're newlyweds.
Chun, who is an environmental engineer at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, got all 10 game predictions correct and therefore qualified for the random drawing for $500.
In order to qualify this week, contestants had to equal or better the 8-2 records posted by panelists Cindy Luis and Mike Fitzgerald of the Star-Bulletin and Charly Espina of KCCN.
"I let my husband pick first and then I look at his and maybe change a couple of things," Chun said. She said she changed her husband's predictions on the Jets-Cardinals game to the Jets and on the Panthers-Eagles game to the Eagles.
Chun said most of the cash will go toward Christmas shopping, although her husband, Reynold, chimed in that a trip to Las Vegas might be in order.
