
1 round ham sliceLay ham on plate.
1 hard-boiled egg (cut in half lengthwise)
2 long slices dill pickle
Red pimento
7 black olives
2 baby carrots
String cheese
Cut small slice off back of each egg half so egg sits flat.
Place eggs on ham for eyes.
Lay pickle on ham for mouth.
Cut pimento in very thin slices and place on whites of eggs for bloodshot eyes.
Lay 5 olives inside pickles for teeth.
Cut round ends off 2 olives. Place in centers of egg yolks for pupils of eyes.
Place carrot on each side of ham slice for ears.
Lay strips of string cheese above ham to make hair.
Makes 1 serving.

The contest is open to all ages, from tadpoles through those over 55. Frogs must be accompanied by a Frog Story Card, for which the artist will have to do some research on frogs. Prizes for first through fourth places will be awarded in each of five age groups.
Entries, which must be submitted by 1 p.m. Nov. 30, will be displayed at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in December. It will open with a Frog Art Open House from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Dec. 1.
Would be frog-makers who might need a little help can sign up for a Frog Art Workshop 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23. Participants must bring their own materials and lunch.

Hawaii high school seniors are eligible for $86,000 in scholarship funds through Heald College's 1997 High School Scholarship Competition.Seven Merit Scholarships are valued at $8,400 each and cover any four-quarter program at Heald. Also, 14 Quarterly Scholarships provide $500 per quarter toward four quarters. Heald is a nonprofit career college offering Associate in Applied Science Degree Programs in Electronics Technology, Accounting, Hospitality and Tourism, and others.
One Merit Scholarship and two Quarterly Scholarships will be awarded to seniors in each Oahu school district and each of the neighbor island counties Applicants must be seniors graduating in 1997 and must have earned a 3.0 (B) grade point average for the first quarter or semester of their senior year. Call 955-1500 for applications.. Applications must be received or postmarked no later than Feb. 1.
