These are some of the smash hits that come to life Nov. 1 on Fort DeRussy Beach. The event is a free outdoor concert by the Northwest Airlines All-Star Band.
The band features rock greats Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals; Steve Cropper of Booker T & the MG's; and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. Also, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, and Billy Preston, keyboardist for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
Parking is available via Kalia Road at Hilton Hawaiian Village and at the Ewa entrance to Fort de Russy. For concert information, call 1-612-727-6796.
THEN, round out the oldies but goodies weekend with free "A Concert in the Park" by two all-time rock 'n' roll great groups from the 1950s and 1960s.
"Save the Last Dance for Me" for "This Magic Moment" with the Drifters, because "Tonight's the Night" that is "Dedicated to the One I Love" by the Shirelles.
