Lion's Club chapters accept
old eye glasses

QUESTION: I have old prescription eye glasses that I would like to donate. Do you know of any organization that collects them?

ANSWER: Call John Bucca at 737-5148. For more than 20 years he has helped with the Lions Club International's campaign to collect all types of eye glasses and distribute them around the world.

"We have averaged about 14,000 to 15,000 pairs of glasses a year," Bucca said. "We collect all types of glasses."

In Honolulu, the collection boxes are at Central Pacific Bank and the Richards Street YWCA. More than 23 Lions Clubs in the state participate in the campaign.
