Transport group hits info highway

The Hawaii Transportation Association is moving in a new direction under its new president Arthur Heath.

"My goal is basically the introduction (of the association) into the Internet age and providing access to our members," Heath said. "That means setting up a home page. Every week we put out a newsletter. We could use the Internet instead."

The association has 365 member companies - including small taxi companies to the biggest fleet owners, Heath said.

He is president of American Movers Inc. A certified public accountant, Heath came to Oahu in 1990 as a consultant to A&P Shipping Corp.

He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at California Polytechnic University at Pomona.

He lives in Mililani with his wife, Marion Christie Heath, a writer.
