Rainbow golfers 12th

RENO, Nev. - The University of Hawaii men's team finished 12th and the University of Hawaii at Hilo 17th in the Wolf Pack Golf Classic yesterday.

The Rainbows had a team total of 915, 48 strokes behind winning Colorado State. The Vulcans had an aggregate score of 940.

Regan Lee led the Rainbows with a 54-hole total of 223 for a tie for sixth place. John Nakano posted UH-Hilo's best score at 234.



HAWAII SURFERS WIN

At Huntington Beach, Calif., Mike Hubbard, Gavin Sutherland, Mikala Jones and Noah Budroe, all from Hawaii, won their heats yesterday in the International Surfing Association's World Surfing Games.



SOCCER SEMINAR

Hawaii Pacific University is holding a high school soccer coaches seminar, Friday through Sunday, with Vladimir Nieto, director of coaching and youth player development for Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy.

The seminar is designed to help coaches manage the new season and includes lectures and exercises to increase the opportunity for a winning season.

The cost is $35 per coach or $50 for two coaches from the same school. For additional information or to register, call 544-0221.
