Fishers should bring bamboo poles, barbless hooks and bait. Walking shoes, insect repellent and light rain gear, along with a picnic lunch, are recommended. Parking is available at the garden's visitor center, about a 20-minute stroll through the garden to the fishing area.

The fund-raiser to help pay legal fees in the Waiahole water usage case hearing will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lim family, Chinky Mahoe, Na Molokama and others also will perform and there will be community speakers, food, arts, crafts and informational booths.
Tickets are $10 general, free for children. No coolers or outside food.

The American Indian Powwow Association event will feature food booths with fry bread, tacos and other refreshments, more than a dozen craft booths and a children's craft booths. Traditional dances, including grass, fancy, round and shawl dances.
Ceremonies will begin each day at 10 a.m. with a grand entrance of American Indian veterans as honor guards and flag bearers. The host drum will be performed by the Wildhorse Singers.
