TODAY

Zoo by Moonlight: Enter the nightlife at the Honolulu Zoo when the moon is full, 7 to 9 p.m. daily through Thursday. Tours are $7 for adults, $5 children, and must be purchased in advance at the cashier's booth. Call 971-7195.



WEDNESDAY

Barnes & Noble: The American Girl Club creates unique stationery 7 p.m. at the Kahala Mall bookstore.

On Saturday, Mike Naehu and Wendy Mah give tips on how to choose the right puppy for your family, at 2 p.m. Find out what a new puppy needs and how to train it properly.

On Sunday, pilot Jim Kerr offers kids the chance to fly with a computer simulation, 2 to 5 p.m. Call Computer Safari at 524-1940 for information.



THURSDAY

Salt Lake/Moanalua Library: "Favorite Fairy Tale Friends," a free hour of stories for preschoolers, 10:30 a.m. Thursdays through Oct. 3. Call 831-6831.

Borders: Gymboree Play Program at the Waikele bookstore presents stories for preschoolers, 11 a.m.

Saturday, meet Angellina Ballerina at 11:30 a.m. The Goosebumps Club features Movie Night at 7 p.m. Bring snacks, and your ideas for next month's trick-or-treat party.

On Sunday, Joy Au, author of "Hawaii Sings" and "Bug Hunt," visits, 2 to 5 p.m.

Slugfest: It's time for some slug appreciation, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hawai'i Nature Center. Costs $5. Reserve at 955-0100.



CONTINUING

Tropical plant nature walk: 10 a.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. Free. Bring walking shoes, insect repellent and rain gear. Call 233-7323 for reservations.

Train rides: Enjoy a 90-minute ride through Ewa 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Sundays with the Hawaiian Railway Society, 91-1001 Renton Road. Costs $8 general, $5 seniors and children. Call 681-5461 for reservations.
