Margaret G. "Peggy" Foster, 76, of California, formerly of Hawaii, died Saturday in Marin County, Calif. Born in London, England, Foster spent her childhood in England, Switzerland, the Philippines and the northeastern United States. In 1936, she moved with her parents, George and Almeda Townsend Goss, and her brothers to Honolulu. A graduate of Punahou School and the University of Hawaii, she completed the Queen's Hospital Nursing program and specialized in surgical assistance. For many years she was the administrator of the Pan Pacific Surgical Association. After moving to Corte Madera, Calif., she continued her interest in boating as an avid competitive sailor and a successful insurer of many of the classic yachts in the San Francisco Bay area. Foster is survived by son Daniel Gladding, daughter Becky Gladding, and brothers John and George "Pete." Services are pending.
