Takanohana clinches title

Associated Press

TOKYO - Unbeaten Takano-hana clinched his 15th tournament championship today with his 13th win in the 15-day Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament.

With only two days to go in the tournament at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena, no wrestlers have enough victories to defeat Takanohana.

Behind Takanohana at 10-3 stand ozeki Wakanohana and equal-ranked Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii.

Wakanohana, Takanohana's elder brother, sent yokozuna Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, to his fourth loss against nine wins.
