Same-sex debate
on the Internet

Debate on same-sex marriage rages not only in Hawaii courtrooms, but also across the Internet.

One of the best sites for the legal background from the proponents' point of view is at http://sunsite.unc.edu/gaylaw/, which is the site for the National Journal of Sexual Orientation Law.

The on-line law journal is devoted exclusively to legal issues affecting lesbians, gays and bisexuals.

On the other side of the issue is the Hawaii Catholic Conference at http://www.pono.net/policy/hccmain.html.

The Rev. Marc R. Alexander, executive director, Hawaii Catholic Conference, said the site is drawing attention not only in Honolulu, but across the world.

"Judging by the e-mail responses alone, it seems that people are finding us, nationally and internationally," he said.

Another site that draws a complete map of same-gender marriage issues across the nation is http://nether.net/~rod/html/sub/marriage.html. It is sponsored by the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund.
