TWA cuts Oahu fares
in three-day sale

ST. LOUIS - Trans World Airlines Inc. today said it set special fares to Hawaii, Florida and Puerto Rico, but the sale won't last long.

Reservations can be made through Thursday and tickets must be purchased within 72 hours of the reservation, TWA said. Tickets also must be bought at least 14 days before departure. Sample round-trip fares include $650 between Honolulu and Chicago, St. Louis or New York. Before the sale, those fares were $748, $767 and $765 respectively, the airline said. Sale fares are valid for travel through Dec. 18. But holiday blackout dates and other restrictions apply.



SBA seeks nominees for
business awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration is seeking nominees for its 1997 awards for Small Business Person of the Year.

Aside from recognizing the top operator or operators among small businesses, the SBA program also has awards young entrepreneurs, exporters and advocates of small business.

Nomination forms are at the SBA district office in Honolulu and at SBA offices on other islands. The deadline is Nov. 15.

The SBA said local winners will be recognized at a statewide luncheon in May and Hawaii's top small business person will go to Washington for National Small Business Week, June 1-7. For information call 541-2973.
