"Barefoot Fugue": Absurdist play from Japan makes its English-language debut, 11 p.m. Friday, Ernst Lab Theatre, UH-Manoa's Kennedy Theatre. "Tommy": A deaf, dumb and blind kid who excels at pinball becomes a cult hero, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11, Manoa Valley Theatre. The rock musical by Peter Townshend and The Who features Michael Dawson, Cassandra Harrell and Alison L.B. Maldonado. Tommy is double cast at ages 4 and 10, with Jason DeLuca and Mark Kanemura at age 10. "Annie": An orphan's faith in a brighter tomorrow attracts helpful friends. Army Community Theatre's production of the Broadway musical features Stephanie Fodor, Andee Gibbs and David Kleist. "Othello": A man allows his doubts to destroy his marriage to a woman from a different culture. Al Harrington has the title role in this version of Shakespeare's tragedy, set in Kamehameha's Hawaii. "Pas de 2": The UH Department of Asian Studies presents two award-winning plays from the Philippines. Agapito Joaquin's "The Tin Roof" (original title "Bubungang Lata") engages poverty and dreams in battle in the slums of Manila. "Seven Years!" ("Pitong Taon"), by Purita and Fidel Sicam, parodies a courtship on the brink. With Hoku Akiu, Dwayne Dumlao and Tess Zarsoza. Directed by Boots Pascual.
