Ouye reports to Norman Dyer, the company president and chief executive.
"Gentry Homes is meeting the challenge of the current stagnant economy by restructuring our operations to better serve our customers," Ouye said. Part of that is a shift to a new affordable home design at the Lofts project, which should be ready for occupancy in October.
Ouye has spent 26 years in construction, including stints at Hawaiian Dredging & Construction Co. and Swinerton & Walberg Co. He joined Gentry as industrial construction manager; most recently he was senior vice president for site development.
He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's in business administration from the University of Hawaii.
