Auction at Studebaker's: "The Home of the Non-stop Bop" closes with silent and live auctions of memorabilia to benefit HUGS, 9 p.m. Saturday. Preview items from 5 p.m. Friday; auction registration begins 7 p.m. Saturday.

Patrons are invited to bring their own memorabilia of good times at Studebaker's to be included in a time capsule that will become part of a wall in the building. Items may be dropped off during business hours. Call 526-9888.

"A Harmony of Cultures": Benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hawaii features Jeep Eagle's 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge 8 a.m. Sunday and Monday at the Aloha Tower Marketplace. There'll also be haircuts and makeup consultations for a $10 donation 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days; Latin Dance-A-Thon with ballroom dance demonstration and music by Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii 9 p.m. to midnight Sunday; children's carnival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday; five-minute massages for a $5 donation; scavenger hunt; folk dances and more.

Entertainment Book: PREVENT Child Abuse Hawaii is selling books of hundreds of "Two-for-One" discounts for fine and family dining, movies, activities, hotels and more. Part of the proceeds go to the "Never Shake a Keiki" campaign to encourage safe strategies for stopping a baby's cries, reduce parent stress and develop parent-child play. Books are $38. Aloha Plane Pull: Teams of 20 people try to tug a 50-ton plane 12 feet in a benefit for Hawaii Special Olympics, 8 a.m. Sept. 7 at Hickam Air Force Base.
