WEDNESDAY

Barnes & Noble: The Goosebumps Club meets at 7 p.m. at the Kahala bookstore.

Winnie-the-Pooh comes for story time 7 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday. Futurekids gives a computer demonstration on space exploration 3 p.m. Saturday.



THURSDAY

Borders: Drama Club, for children ages 6 to 14, meets 7 p.m. at the Waikele bookstore to work on performing plays and building sets. Keiki Story Time is 11 a.m. Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.



SATURDAY

Expression Session: Children ages 5 to 12 exercise their artistic ability while their parents tour the galleries of the Contemporary Museum, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Costs $10 general. Reserve at 526-1322.



SUNDAY

Leaf Lovers: Children ages 6 to 8 explore the forms and functions of leaves, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hawai'i Nature Center. Costs $5. Reserve at 955-0100.

Young Women's Career Series: Evelyn Cox from the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology stalks about her work, 4 p.m., Borders, Waikele.



LOOKING AHEAD

"Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear?": Children ages 3 to 5 can bring a toy friend for games and activities and a reading of Nancy White Carlstrom's picture book, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Kalihi-Palama Library. Reserve at 832-3466.

The library has a Storytime for infants and toddlers at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays through October, and a Storytime for ages 3 to 5 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

Learn to play music: Children 8 and older are invited to join the Hawaii Youth Symphony Association through Sept. 13. Beginning Strings class, in violin, viola, cello and bass, is aimed at children who have no music program at school. Experience is not necessary; one-hour classes meet 8 a.m. Saturdays. Registration $165; instruments for rent at $125 per year. Call 941-9706.

Archaeology for Kids: Find out how people lived long ago, using scientists' methods to gain a better understanding of early residents of Makiki Valley, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 15. For ages 8 and up. Costs $5. Call the Hawai'i Nature Center at 955-0100.

Saturday art classes: The Academy Art Center has "Exploring Art" for children in kindergarten through fourth grade and "Drawing and Painting" for fifth through 12th graders, Sept. 21 through Dec. 7. The 11-class sessions meet 9 to 11 a.m., or 1 to 3 p.m. Tuition $95. Call 532-8741.

Honolulu Boy Choir: Boys ages 7 to 12 may audition. Also, the choir, which has had more than 2,000 members since 1974, is planning a reunion. Leave your name, address and telephone number at 596-7464.
