Girl Writer Contest: Girls who have ideas to share with other kids can turn those ideas into books. Beyond Words Publishing is looking for writers ages 6 to 16 who suggest an unusual yet practical book for kids, similar to "Better Than a Lemonade Stand" or "100 Excuses for Kids."Write one page about yourself, one page summarizing or outlining your book idea and a sample page from your book, and send them with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Girl Writer Contest, Beyond Words Publishing, 4443 NE Airport Road, Hillsboro OR 97124-6074.
