GE Capital to refocus on
mortgage lending

GE Capital Hawaii is re-emphasizing its long-term residential lending efforts under Dennis S. Oshiro.

"The primary focus of GE Capital has been on our short-term portfolio (of loans) but now we want to expand our product offerings to long-term mortgages," Oshiro said. "We have among the best 30-year fixed rates in town."

He joined GE Capital Hawaii in June after more than 25 years of lending experience in Honolulu.

Oshiro most recently was general manager at Spectrum Mortgage. He began his lending career in 1970 and worked for local thrifts, mortgage brokerages and finance companies.

Oshiro and his wife, Arlene, reside in Palolo. They have two children: Kirsten, 27; and Brandon, 21.

GE Capital Hawaii is a unit of GE Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric Co. GE Capital's activities also include equipment management, specialty insurance and consumer services.
