Meet candidates in key races

CONGRESS

Bobby Bunda (D), 2nd Congressional District: 5 p.m. Monday, Hawaii County Democratic Party Headquarters, 815 Kinoole St., Big Island; 5:30 p.m. Tuesday fund-raiser, Dot's restaurant, Wahiawa. Donation: $25.

Rep. Patsy Mink (D), 2nd Congressional District: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Kona Imin Center, Holualoa, Big Island. Cost: $5. Coffee hour.



PROSECUTOR

All three candidates will participate in the Prosecutors' Forum 12 p.m. Friday, prosecutor's office, 1060 Richards St., ninth-floor conference room.

All three candidates will participate in UH Law School Alumni Association Prosecutors' Forum 10 a.m. Saturday, University of Hawaii Law Forum, William S. Richardson Law School, 2515 Dole St., Classroom 2.



OTHERS

Waikiki Area Action Association will have a candidates' forum 7 p.m. Tuesday, Waikiki Community Center, 310 Paoakalani Ave. Candidates for the mayor's race and all nine 21st District candidates plan to participate.

Democratic former state Rep. Reb Bellinger of Kaaawa, who's seeking to represent House District 46 once more, says he has canceled his fund-raiser scheduled for Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kualoa Ranch in Kaaawa because of the death of his 18-year-old stepson, Jerome Teves. Teves was killed Aug. 9 in a two-car crash on Kamehameha Highway near Kualoa Ranch.
