To kick off the Republican convention starting Monday the GOP has launched an Internet site for the most easily distracted political junkie.
The Web site at http://www.convention96.rnc.org/ proclaims itself as the "first cyber-convention with gavel-to-gavel coverage."
If you aren't into the GOP platform, you might just want to flip over a couple of the pages with multimedia.
The Republicans are promising to broadcast live from the San Diego Convention Center, with the biggest live video feed ever push over the Internet.
To do that you will need a sound card and speakers, along the CU-SEEME software available from GOP free software page.
You will be able to chat live with GOP advisers and policymakers in specially designed Internet forums. You will also get to roam the convention halls with with GOP operatives who will describe events as they happen on the convention floor.
If spending that much time with the Republicans, however, gives you the hives, you can get briefed on the upcoming Democratic National Convention by voting for http://www.democrats.org/party/convention/.
