Help choose our wonders
What's wonderful about Hawaii? A couple of weeks ago in a WatDat? column we answered a query about the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and then wondered if Hawaii had seven wonders worth wondering about. We asked for nominations.
Readers responded, not overwhelmingly, but enough so that there's no consensus. The only thing most seemed to agree on was that the Seven Wonders of Hawaii should be natural, not man-made. Sure, there were votes for Ala Moana Center, the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Duke Kahanamoku statue and even "all the Wyland murals in Hawaii." But the natural nominations far outweighed the unnatural.
